There is a doorway in my home upon which my partner and I mark the heights of our children as they grow. It’s a bit of a mess because our kids are usually squirming, but we treasure what that imperfection represents; our love for each other, for them, and what we’ve built together. “Vitamin” lives in that emotional space and acts as a mirror to my feelings about where we are at in our parenthood and in our middle aged lives. Though the days feel long, the years are zipping by and we’re doing our best to hold on to every little bit of it. /CMB
